19 workers of Kaligandaki corridor were killed in a tripper accident in Mustang Syangboche on Friday.
The ill-fated tipper (Ba 2 Ka 2219) was fetching the workers to Tamakhola after having meal in Syangboche but unfortunately it met an accident in Damodarkund rural municipality-3, Syangboche killing 19 workers on the spot and injuring 13 people, police reported.
Police identified the deceased as Sukman Roka, Mausam Gharti, Jitmaya Gharti, Sirjana Magar, Rashtre Roka, Jitkumari Pun, Mahesh Roka, Suntu Gharti, Rajkumari Pun, Kamal Budha, Balkumar Gharti, Kabita Ghartimagar, Suber Chaudhari, Shanti Thapa, Sujan Ghalan, Jiban Majhi, Binti Gharti, Kaman Singh Roka and Krishna Chhetri.
According to the Syangja district police office, injured workers have been airlifted to Pokhara-based Manipal teaching hospital for further treatment by helicopters.
